  • Strong sales carry over to 2017 with best January sales on record
  • Newly released and redesigned Impreza posts 33.1 percent increase over last year
(MISSISSAUGA) — Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce best ever January sales with 2,805 units retailed. After closing 2016 with a new annual sales record, topping 50,000 units for the first time, Subaru carried the strong sales momentum into the first month of 2017, thanks in part to the new 2017 Impreza.  The completely redesigned Impreza, which just hit dealerships in December, helped vault Subaru’s compact car to its best ever January results, with 599 units retailed for a 33.1 percent increase over January 2016.

Several other models also posted strong numbers, including the AJAC award-winning Forester.  It saw an increase of 6.4 percent over last year, with 849 units retailed.  The BRZ saw an increase of 15 percent over last year with 23 units retailed and the Outback topped last year’s sales by 27.3 percent with 611 units retailed.

“We look forward to continuing this strong sales momentum throughout 2017,” says Shiro Ohta, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc.  “With our strong product offering and continued commitment to serving our customers we are confident that 2017 will be another historic year for Subaru Canada, Inc. ”
