First Look: The 2025 Subaru Forester

One in four Subarus sold in Canada over the past 25 years has been a Forester so it’s no surprise to see a lot of excitement over the unveiling last month of the all-new model.

Unveiled last month at the Los Angeles auto show, the new Forester promises the most advanced features, modern design, and improved ride comfort in history. Designed to combine the capability and versatility of a large SUV with the comfort and efficiency of a car, the Forester is a vehicle that is particularly suitable for Canadian driving.

The 2025 model features a sleek, contemporary design aesthetic while retaining the rugged looks of its predecessors. Inside, the cabin benefits from an enhanced focus on passengers, including a more supportive front seat design to increase overall comfort and minimize fatigue. Available for the first time on a Subaru model is a new kick sensor-activated hands-free power rear gate.

Since its introduction in Canada for the 1998 model year, this iconic SUV has received numerous safety awards from trusted organizations including the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The outgoing Forester received the Top Safety Pick award in 2023 for the 17th consecutive year. The all-new 2025 Forester is expected to continue to deliver exemplary safety performance.

Canadians won’t have long to wait to pick up the new Forester. The 2025 model will be available in Convenience, Touring, Sport, Limited and Premier trim levels when it arrives in Subaru dealers nationwide in spring 2024. Pricing will be announced soon.
